Thame and Watlington Mission Statement ‘We are a Christian community empowering local churches to meet the needs of all people in a changing world. In fulfilling the Mission Statement, the Circuit will resource churches : 1. to maintain a Circuit Leadership Team made up of ordained and lay people representing the Circuit to the churches and the churches to the wider community. 2. to create inspiring and relevant acts of worship by reflecting a variety of tastes and personalities, by developing our worship, teaching and fellowship through prayer and Bible study. 3. to regularly present the challenge of Christian commitment and Church membership to all those associated with the Circuit churches. 4. to encourage mutual support amongst the churches of the Circuit by fostering a sense of Circuit identity, e.g. through regular Circuit services and other events, whilst building upon our ecumenical relationships. 5. to build strong lay leadership in each local church and in the Circuit. 6. to maintain a network of pastoral care with lay and ordained visitors. 7. to prioritise resources of time, effort, buildings and finance in order to support our mission to those in need, both inside and outside the Church. 8. to be vigilant towards opportunities for growth and development in discipleship by way of mission to every age group. 9. to resource training for workers among young people, especially those working with ecumenical partners where appropriate. 10. to assist in part-financing those who wish to attend approved training courses for service in the Church and community. 11. to be aware of current world issues and discover God's response for us towards them 12. to encourage the establishment of closer links with local Christian communities, seeing each as complementary and rerflecting differing styles of worship and mission. 13. to develop a church life of wholesome Christian spirituality in our witness to each other, the local community and the world.
